The provincial government has issued a formal notification, stating that the new wage structure will be effective across the province from July 1, 2025.
According to the notification, the minimum monthly wage will apply to unskilled, adult, adolescent, and juvenile workers. The daily wage has been set at Rs1,538.46, while the minimum monthly wage will be Rs40,000.
The statement clarified that the minimum wage should not be considered the maximum wage, as employers are bound to pay higher wages to workers with greater skills or experience.
It further specified that the law will also apply to contract workers, and all industrial and commercial establishments are required to implement the new minimum wage policy. Female and transgender workers will also receive equal pay to men.
