But now Google has done something similar and has introduced a feature for moving the Chrome browser s address bar from top to bottom for Android phones.

The company announced this feature in June 2025 and has now officially launched. This feature has been available in the Chrome browser for iOS devices since 2023 and has now been introduced for Android users as well.

It is unclear why it took Google 2 years to introduce this feature for Android devices. This new feature will give users the freedom to set the location of the address bar as they wish.

It s very easy to move the address bar from one place on the screen to another. Just press and hold the address bar for a while, after which an option called Move address bar to the bottom will appear. If you click on it, the address bar will move to the bottom.

Similarly, you will be able to bring it back up from the bottom. When you open Chrome settings, you will also see a new option called Address Bar, which can be moved up or down by clicking on it.

If you don t like moving the address bar from its place, there s no need to do so because it s an optional feature, meaning use it if you want, otherwise ignore it.

However, moving the address bar to the bottom in a web browser can be quite helpful. Most smartphones have a large display and it is not possible to use the address bar at the top with one hand, but this task is easily possible in the address bar at the bottom. In simple words, moving the address bar down will make it easier for users to type.
