(Web Desk): Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-0 as Michael Carrick returned to Old Trafford, giving fans a thrilling derby win full of belief.

Manchester United controlled the match from the start and played with confidence. In a dominant first half, Amad and Bruno Fernandes both saw their goals ruled out for offside, frustrating the home crowd but not their momentum.

The pressure continued after the break when Mason Mount also had a goal disallowed. Despite the setbacks, United kept pushing and looked sharper than their rivals.

The breakthrough finally came in the 65th minute. Bryan Mbeumo finished brilliantly from a fast counter-attack, leaving City’s defence exposed and the stadium roaring.

Just 11 minutes later, Patrick Dorgu made it 2-0. He slipped in front of Rico Lewis and scored from close range, sealing a famous derby victory.

The win ended United’s run of four matches without a victory in all competitions. For Manchester City, the defeat could leave them nine points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, raising fresh questions about their title chase.
