23 new cars set to hit Pakistan roads by year-end as EV wave gains speed
Pakistan's automotive industry is gearing up for one of its busiest launch periods in recent years, with 23 new vehicles expected to enter the market between June and December 2026.
According to Arif Habib Limited's (AHL) Upcoming Automobile Launch Tracker, the upcoming launches will include nine electric vehicles (EVs), 11 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and three petrol-powered models. The trend reflects the growing shift toward cleaner and more fuel-efficient transportation options in Pakistan.
EVs and hybrids take center stage
The latest launch schedule highlights how automakers are increasingly focusing on electrified mobility. Rising fuel costs, changing consumer preferences and government interest in sustainable transport are encouraging manufacturers to expand their EV and hybrid offerings.
Industry experts believe the arrival of new electric and hybrid models could increase competition in the market while giving consumers a wider range of choices across different price segments.
June to bring biggest launch wave
June is expected to be the busiest month, with seven vehicle launches planned.
Changan is expected to introduce the UNI-S (Petrol), while GWM plans to launch the Cannon Alpha (PHEV). MG is preparing to unveil the IM5 and IM6 electric vehicles.
Meanwhile, Jetour is expected to launch the T1 and T2 petrol models, while Omoda is planning the introduction of the C7 plug-in hybrid.

In August, Ora is expected to introduce the O5 (EV), Deepal the Hunter K50 (REEV), and Avatr the 11 (EV).
September's lineup includes the Chery QQ3 (EV) and Deepal S09 (REEV), while October is expected to feature the launch of Changan's Lumin electric vehicle.
December packed with major launches

Nevo is preparing to unveil the Q07 (PHEV), Avatr the 07 (EV), and Aion the ES (EV).
What it means for buyers
The large number of upcoming launches signals growing confidence in Pakistan's auto sector despite economic challenges. Analysts say increased competition could encourage better technology, improved features and more attractive pricing strategies.
With EVs and hybrids accounting for nearly 90 percent of the upcoming launches, 2026 could become a landmark year for Pakistan's transition toward modern and environmentally friendly transportation.
