France won against Morocco 2-0 in the World Cup quarterfinals
Mbappe had his first-half penalty saved on his record-equalling 20th World Cup appearance for France, but made amends on the hour mark with a curling shot into the far corner for his eighth goal of the tournament.
The strike also moved Mbappe back ahead of Lionel Messi in the Golden Boot race, with both players now on eight goals, though Mbappe holds more assists.

Six minutes after his own goal, Mbappe turned provider, laying the ball into the path of Ousmane Dembele, who curled a low shot past goalkeeper Yassine Bounou to put the game beyond Morocco.
France finished the match with an expected-goals tally of 3.04 compared to Morocco's 0.14, reflecting a dominant attacking display from Les Bleus.

Morocco, missing injured striker Ismael Saibari, put up a fight but ultimately lacked the attacking edge to trouble France's defence.
Bounou kept Morocco in the contest for much of the first hour with a series of strong saves before the French breakthrough arrived.
The result sends Didier Deschamps' side into a third straight World Cup semifinal. France remains the only team in the tournament to win all six of their matches without needing extra time, and will next face the winner of Friday's quarterfinal between Spain and Belgium.
