LAHORE (Web Desk): Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League, ending a 10-year journey in the tournament.

Shoaib Malik shared the news on social media, saying he has decided to step away from PSL cricket after spending a decade in the league.

“I cherish every single moment and friendship I have made on and off the field throughout my 10 years in the PSL as a player. It’s time to call it a day,” Malik wrote.

He added that his love for the game remains strong and that he will continue working for cricket in different ways. “My passion and motivation to serve for the betterment of cricket will always stay. Thank you, PSL,” he said.

Last year, Malik had already stepped back from another role. In May, he resigned as Domestic Cricket Mentor, saying it was “time to move on” and focus on other personal and professional responsibilities.

During his PSL career, Malik played for several teams, including Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, he featured in 93 PSL matches and scored a total of 2350 runs, making him one of the most experienced players in the league.

His retirement marks the end of a major chapter in Pakistan’s domestic T20 cricket.
