The T20 World Cup 2026 will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, making aggressive batting more important than ever in modern T20 cricket.
In a social media post, Latif praised Sahibzada Farhan for his excellent form this year. He highlighted Farhan’s consistency and high strike-rate as a model for others.
"Sahibzada Farhan was the most successful batsman in 2025. Captain Salman Ali Agha, Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Usman Khan will need to work on their strike-rates for the World Cup," Latif wrote on Facebook.
Farhan enjoyed an outstanding year, scoring 1,825 runs in 45 matches. He averaged 43.45 with a strike-rate of 153.23, including 12 fifties and four centuries.
In comparison, Babar Azam scored 585 runs in 22 matches at a strike-rate of 122.28. Salman Ali Agha made 826 runs in 43 games with a strike-rate of 119.88, while Usman Khan scored 583 runs in 24 matches.

The ICC has already announced the T20 World Cup 2026 schedule. The tournament will run from February 7 to March 8 and feature 20 teams divided into five groups.
Pakistan and India have been placed in the same group along with the Netherlands, Namibia and the USA. Pakistan will begin their campaign against the Netherlands in Colombo.
Pakistan will face the USA on February 10 and take on India in a high-profile clash at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 15. Their final group match will be against Namibia on February 18.
All of Pakistan’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka under the ICC’s Fusion Formula, ensuring neutral venues for Pakistan-India clashes.
Latif’s comments highlight a real concern in modern T20 cricket. High strike-rates win matches. Farhan’s form sets a strong example. Pakistan’s success may depend on faster scoring at the top.
