The response reflects growing global interest in the PSL, with bidders from Pakistan, the United States, Australia, Canada, and the UAE, highlighting the league’s expanding international footprint. Pakistan-based solar company Inverex Power Solution, a long-time PSL sponsor, is among the bidders, while reports indicate other parties include telecom firms, real estate groups, and consortia of Pakistani businessmen in the US.
The initial bidding phase concludes on December 27, after which qualified bidders will enter an open competition for the two new franchises scheduled for January 8 at the Islamabad Convention Centre. The successful franchise owners will select from cities including Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Sialkot.
PSL 11 Timeline and Format
The 11th edition of the PSL is set to run from March 26 to May 3, 2026, overlapping with the Indian Premier League window to improve overseas player availability. The tournament will feature a revised format to accommodate eight teams within 39 days, with matches potentially spread across additional venues including Faisalabad.

However, as of now, key details for PSL 11 remain largely unannounced. Retention lists, mega draft dates, player categories, team names, logos, and exact formats are all marked “Coming Soon,” leaving fans and teams awaiting crucial updates. The retention and draft processes are critical, as they determine player allocations and franchise strategies amid rising costs and league expansion.
PCB’s Commitment to Transparency
The PCB has assured that the entire franchise bidding and league expansion process will be transparent and competitive, following international standards. This step follows the conclusion of original 10-year franchise agreements, with five of the existing six teams—Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators—renewing their rights under revised valuations conducted by Ernst & Young. The Multan Sultans’ ownership remains under review.
The expansion to eight teams is considered the league’s first major restructuring since 2018, when Multan Sultans were added. With global interest surging, 2026 promises to be a landmark year for the PSL, both in terms of commercial growth and international recognition.
