LAHORE (Web Desk): Former Pakistan captains likely to be given key roles in PCB as major changes are expected in the team management setup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly planning a major reshuffle in its management structure, with several former captains likely to be given important responsibilities, according to sources. Sources say the board is considering assigning key roles to experienced former players as part of efforts to improve team performance and restructure the national cricket setup.

Former captain Younis Khan is being considered as the head coach of Pakistan’s Test team. He is also reportedly under consideration for a possible role in the national selection committee, which decides team line-ups.

In another major development, former all-rounder and captain Mohammad Hafeez is likely to be appointed as the PCB Director of International Cricket. He may also be given responsibilities within the selection committee.

At the same time, sources suggest that changes are expected in the leadership and coaching setup of the Test team. Current Test coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and captain Shan Masood may be removed from their positions as part of the restructuring plan. However, Sarfaraz Ahmed is expected to continue working with the Pakistan Shaheens, the country’s second-tier development team.

Officials have not yet made any formal announcement regarding these reported changes. The PCB has remained silent so far, while discussions are understood to be ongoing. If implemented, the move could bring a major shift in Pakistan cricket, bringing former stars back into leadership roles and changing the direction of the national setup.
