With no contract renewal, the team is out of the upcoming PSL cycle as the league moves forward with new franchise plans.
Sources confirmed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to renew the franchise agreement of the Multan Sultans for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) cycle after the team reportedly failed to meet compliance standards.
The PCB has offered new 10-year contracts to the remaining five PSL franchises with a 25% increase in franchise value, giving them a 10-day window to accept the terms.
According to sources, Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen had publicly criticised PSL management and even tore up a legal notice issued by the PCB. Although the franchise submitted a detailed proposal to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the board has not yet issued an official statement regarding the non-renewal.

The potential city options for the new teams include:
- Hyderabad
- Sialkot
- Muzaffarabad
- Faisalabad

- Rawalpindi
The addition of two new franchises is expected to expand the PSL’s geographic presence and bring fresh competition to the league.
