The 54-year-old cricketer addressed the situation on Tuesday, December 2, by posting a video message on his official social media accounts. In the video, Moin Khan clarified that reports of his death due to a cardiac arrest were completely baseless and fabricated.
“I am very healthy and happy,” he said, urging the public not to believe or spread unverified news. His statement came shortly after false claims circulated online suggesting that the former cricketer and coach had suffered a fatal heart attack.
The fake reports triggered widespread concern among fans, prompting Khan to personally intervene and put the rumours to rest. He also criticised those responsible for spreading misinformation and causing unnecessary panic.

Shortly after his clarification, the video was widely shared across social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter). Supporters expressed relief and condemned the spread of false news. One user wrote, “Shame on all those people spreading fake news about former captain Moin Khan. Alhamdulillah he is fit, fine and healthy.”
The incident once again highlights the growing issue of unchecked misinformation on social media and the need for responsible sharing of news.
The reaction came after a news of the death of senior cricketer and captain of Mehboob Sports Cricket Club, Moin Khan Rajput.
Moin Khan Rajput passed away at the age of 65 after suffering a fatal heart attack.
Moin Khan Rajput held a prominent place in the city’s sports history, with decades of service dedicated to training and mentoring young cricketers. His funeral prayers were offered at Mehboob Cricket Ground in Unit 5, Latifabad, where a large number of players, former cricketers, sports organizers, political figures, and notable individuals from various walks of life attended.
