Pakistan star batter Babar Azam reached another major milestone in T20 cricket. During the third T20 match against Australia in Lahore, he scored an unbeaten 50 runs off 36 balls.
This knock marked Babar’s 39th half-century in T20 Internationals. With this, he moved ahead of India’s Virat Kohli, who had 38 T20I half-centuries to his name.
The 31-year-old achieved this feat in his 139th T20I match. Kohli had reached his 38 half-centuries in 125 matches before retiring from the T20I format.
Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma stands third on the list with 37 half-centuries. Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is fourth with 31, while Australia’s David Warner is fifth with 29.
Babar Azam also holds another major T20I record. He is the highest run-scorer in the format, with 4,505 runs in 139 innings at an impressive average of 39.51.
