DUBAI: (Web Desk) Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma addressed the speculations surrounding his retirement after winning the Champions Trophy 2025.

After leading India to victory over New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final in Dubai, Rohit Sharma addressed the media and spoke about his retirement plans, stating that he has not yet made any decision regarding his future.

Rohit clarified that he has no intention of retiring from One-Day cricket, calling the rumors circulating about his retirement baseless. "I am here to deny these rumors today so they can be put to rest. I will continue representing India and am ready to play for my country in any position," he said.

It was speculated that Rohit Sharma might announce his retirement from cricket before the 2027 World Cup. Indian media had claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was focusing on the next Test Championship and the 2027 World Cup, and wanted to appoint a captain who could lead the team effectively in these key events.

It is worth noting that in the Champions Trophy final, Rohit Sharma played a brilliant innings of 76 runs off 83 deliveries against New Zealand.
