LAHORE: (Suno News) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi says no decision has yet been taken to remove Babar Azam as T20 captain.

Mohsin Naqvi told journalists in Lahore that he has been in contact with former best cricketers to seek their advice on how to improve cricket in Pakistan.

He said he never makes a decision in anger, adding head coach Gary Kirsten has submitted a detailed report on the performance of the team in the recent T20 World Cup.

“Those responsible for wrong decisions and selections within the selection committee will be held accountable,” he pledged.

“Wahab Riaz was appointed as a selector, not the chief selector, and upcoming changes in the selection committee will soon be revealed,” he said.

The PCB chairman also told the media about the upcoming sessions with Gary Kirsten, Jason Gillespie, and Azhar Mahmood to improve the performance of the team.

“Improving the national team’s poor performance is the biggest target,” he stated and added that upgrading stadiums is also a significant task.

“During my last four months as chairman, I’ve realised that everything in the PCB is disordered and that the information being communicated internally is completely different from what is happening on the ground,” he claimed.

Mohsin Naqvi also highlighted the valuable input received from ex-cricketers on improving cricket standards, emphasising that the cricketers should prioritise Pakistan over other engagements.
