Multan Sultans pledge donations to help Palestinians with every six and wicket

KARACHI: (Web Desk) Multan Sultans, one of the prominent teams in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), have announced a heartfelt initiative to support the Palestinians.

The franchise has pledged to donate Rs100,000 (approximately $356) to Palestinian charities for every six hit and every wicket taken by their players.

 “In this season of the Pakistan Super League, we’ve decided to stand with Palestine,” said Multan Sultans  owner, Ali Khan Tareen, in a video message. “For every six hit by a Multan Sultans batter, we will contribute Rs100,000 to Palestinian charities. Our bowlers wanted to join in as well, so we’ve extended this initiative to include every wicket taken, with a special focus on supporting organizations helping children.”

The PSL, Pakistan’s leading T20 cricket league, continues to draw massive crowd and packed stadiums, making it an influential platform not only for cricket but also for raising awareness around important social issues.

The league kicked off with a dazzling opening ceremony in Rawalpindi on Friday, once again captivating fans with its blend of entertainment, high-stakes cricket, and impactful off-field efforts.

On Saturday, the action heated up with Quetta Gladiators putting on a dominant show against Peshawar Zalmi. Quetta set a huge target of 216/3, led by Saud Shakeel’s 59-run knock. Zalmi, in response, were bundled out for 136, with spinner Abrar Ahmed taking an impressive 4 wickets for 42 runs.

In another thrilling match, Karachi Kings chased down Multan Sultans  imposing 234/3, pulling off a dramatic four-wicket victory. James Vince stole the spotlight with a stunning 101 off just 43 balls.
