Babar Azam moves up in ICC T20I and Test batter rankings: A major career milestone!

(Web Desk) Opening batter Babar Azam made a significant jump in the latest ICC T20I and Test rankings as he sits now in sixth place surpassing captain Muhammad Rizwan.

Skipper Rizwan and left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi experienced major declines.

In the latest rankings, India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the Test bowler rankings, followed by South Africa s Kagiso Rabada and Australia s Josh Hazlewood.

Australia s Travis Head remains the top-ranked T20I batter with 855 rating points, followed by England’s Phil Salt in second and India’s Tilak Varma in third.

In the bowling rankings, Shaheen Afridi drops one spot to 21st with 599 rating points, while Haris Rauf falls three places to 26th with 573 rating points. Young pacer Abbas Afridi rises two places to 41st with 526 rating points. Shadab Khan also sees a significant decline, dropping six positions to 71st with 444 rating points.

In the T20I bowling rankings, West Indies  Akeal Hosein has replaced England s Adil Rashid as the number-one bowler. Rashid now sits second, while Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga holds the third spot.

Turning to the ICC ODI rankings, both Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique saw their positions drop. Despite scoring a century against South Africa in the first ODI, Saim slipped one spot to 80th with 470 points. Abdullah Shafique, struggling with the bat, dropped to 77th with 472 points.

On the other hand, Fakhar Zaman (16th), Imam-ul-Haq (18th), and Mohammad Rizwan (24th) maintained their rankings. Babar Azam remains the number-one ODI batter, with India s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in second and third place, respectively.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Haris Rauf stayed in 15th place, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. is ranked 52nd, Naseem Shah is 61st, and Mohammad Nawaz is 67th.

In the Test batting rankings, Babar Azam moved up one spot to 17th with 670 rating points. Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan retained their positions at 19th and 20th, respectively.
