Under his leadership, Pakistan managed to clinch their 45th win in a T20I match against Ireland which is the highest number of wins in the T20I format.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) declared Babar Azam the most successful captain in the T20I format with an impressive 45 wins under his leadership.
On Sunday, Pakistan defeated Ireland by seven wickets in the second T20I of the three-match series in Dublin.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Ireland put up a competitive total of 193 runs after losing seven wickets within the allotted 20 overs.
Backed by Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker led the charge with a commendable 51 runs as Harry Tector contributed 32 runs. Pakistan’s bowling attack showcased their prowess with Shaheen Shah Afridi claiming three wickets, Abbas Afridi securing two, and Mohammad Amir and Naseem Shah each grabbing one wicket.
Delivering a stellar performance, Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten with an impressive score of 75 runs, while Fakhar Zaman provided valuable support with a notable contribution of 78 runs.
In T20 Internationals, the 140-run partnership made by Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman is Pakistan’s highest for the 3rd wicket partnership breaking the record of 105 between Rizwan and Haider Ali. Mohammad Rizwan was declared player of the match.
The third and final T-20 international will be played on Tuesday.
