(Web Desk): PDMA Punjab warns public against snowfall rumors, confirms cold and foggy weather with limited rainfall in specific areas.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has denied reports of snowfall and extreme cold in Punjab’s plains during January 16–25, urging the public not to pay attention to rumors circulating on social media.

According to the DG of PDMA Punjab, there is no possibility of snowfall in Lahore or other low-lying areas of the province. Reports of heavy rain and snow in Punjab’s plains have no basis, the authority clarified. Citizens are advised to rely only on official weather updates and avoid misinformation.

PDMA stated that cold and foggy conditions will persist until January 18, affecting visibility and daily activities. Meanwhile, rainfall and snowfall are expected in the upper regions, including Murree and Galiyat, on January 17–18. Another spell of light rain may occur between January 21–22, which could help reduce the intensity of fog and smog in the region.

Officials reiterated that the plains will continue to experience cold but dry conditions, while rainfall and snowfall will remain limited to hilly and high-altitude areas.
