The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather forecast warning thunderstorms and rain across Pakistan, as a new western weather system begins affecting the country.
According to the latest Pakistan weather update, widespread rain, strong winds, and possible hailstorms are expected in several regions including Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Islamabad-Rawalpindi.
Rain Expected in Sindh Including Karachi and Interior Districts
Under the Sindh rain forecast, showers are likely in Karachi and multiple districts including:
- Jamshoro
- Dadu
- Qambar Shahdadkot
- Jacobabad
- Shikarpur
- Kashmore
- Sukkur
- Ghotki
- Badin
- Umerkot
- Tharparkar
The PMD has warned that strong winds and hailstorms may damage weak structures and standing crops in affected areas.

Islamabad, Rawalpindi Weather Update
The Islamabad and Rawalpindi weather forecast also indicates chances of rain and thunderstorms. Citizens have been advised to remain cautious as gusty winds may disrupt daily activities.
KP Weather: Snowfall and Heavy Rain Expected in Upper Areas
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather conditions, the capital city Peshawar will remain partly cloudy and pleasant. However, upper regions may experience snowfall until March 30.
Rain and thunderstorms are expected in areas including:
- Chitral
- Dir
- Swat
- Kalam
- Shangla
- Buner
Other districts such as Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, Haripur, Mardan, Nowshera, Kohat, Hangu, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, and Orakzai may also witness rainfall with isolated hailstorms.
Western Weather System to Impact Country
Meteorologists confirm that a new western disturbance system in Pakistan is responsible for the changing weather pattern. The system is expected to remain active for the next several days, bringing intermittent rain and storm activity.
