A fresh Pakistan weather alert has been issued as a new rain spell enters the country, bringing thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorm risks across multiple regions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Meteorologists say the new weather system is likely to affect several parts of the country over the coming days, prompting authorities to advise citizens to remain cautious amid expectations of severe weather conditions.
Rain, Thunderstorms Expected in Major Cities
In Karachi, rain is expected from tomorrow until April 7, with chances of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hailstorms in certain areas. Residents have been urged to take safety measures.
Meanwhile, Islamabad is likely to experience partly cloudy weather today, with rain and thunderstorms expected later in the day. Temperatures have dropped noticeably, with morning lows recorded at 13°C and daytime highs expected to reach 22°C. Wind speeds are around 11 km/h, while humidity levels exceed 70%.

KP, Kashmir, and Northern Areas on Alert
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and rainfall across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan from April 6 to April 9. Snowfall is also expected in higher mountainous regions, increasing the risk of landslides and travel disruptions.
Cities including Peshawar, Swat, and Chitral may witness heavy rainfall, raising concerns over flash flooding in local streams and nullahs.
Punjab and Balochistan Forecast
In Punjab, cities like Lahore, Murree, and Rawalpindi are expected to receive rain with thunderstorms and possible hail from the night of April 6. Strong winds may also cause a noticeable drop in temperatures.
However, earlier forecasts indicated dry weather in Lahore with temperatures ranging between 17°C and 27°C and humidity levels reaching up to 90%, highlighting changing weather dynamics.
In Balochistan, stormy rains and hailstorms are expected in western districts starting tomorrow evening, with a risk of water accumulation in low-lying areas.
Sindh Cities and Safety Advisory
Besides Karachi, cities such as Hyderabad and Sukkur are also likely to experience thunderstorms on April 6.
Authorities have advised all relevant departments to remain on high alert and urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors during storms, and follow safety guidelines to minimize risks.
