(Web Desk): Severe cold, fog, and smog predicted across Pakistan, with authorities warning citizens to stay cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.

The intensity of cold weather has increased across Pakistan, with the Meteorological Department predicting severe cold, fog, and smog in various cities over the next 24 hours.

According to the latest weather update, the federal capital Islamabad and its surrounding areas will experience cold and dry conditions today. The northern regions, including Murree and the Galiyat areas, will continue to face freezing temperatures.

In Punjab, dense fog and smog are expected in several districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Kot Addu, and Bahawalpur. Reduced visibility due to fog may disrupt traffic flow and create hazardous driving conditions.

The Meteorological Department also warned that northern districts of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are likely to experience extremely cold mornings and nights, with temperatures expected to drop further. Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will also face severe cold and dry weather.

Fog is expected at some locations in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, and surrounding areas. Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution while traveling.
