The Capital Development Authority (CDA) took a major step toward advancing healthcare in the federal capital on Saturday as Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa met senior officials of Aga Khan University to discuss the establishment of a modern teaching and tertiary care hospital in Islamabad.
During the meeting, Chairman Randhawa assured full cooperation for the new Aga Khan University Teaching Hospital, calling it a transformative project for Islamabad’s health sector. He said the facility would not only enhance clinical services but also boost medical research, professional training, and education within the city.
Randhawa highlighted that the initiative represents a significant upgrade to the capital’s healthcare ecosystem, noting that the hospital’s advanced treatment model would set new standards for patient care and strengthen the region’s long-term medical infrastructure.
Aga Khan University’s Chief of Facilities and Administrative Services, Aziz Jan, said the planned hospital is designed to offer world-class healthcare equipped with modern technology and expanded service capacity. He emphasized the university’s dedication to providing top-quality medical services to residents across the region.

The CDA chief also shared plans to collaborate with Aga Khan University to upgrade healthcare services for CDA employees at the CDA Hospital. He further expressed interest in partnering with the university to improve the quality of CDA-run educational institutions.
Randhawa said improving public services and expanding access to modern facilities remains one of CDA’s highest priorities, adding that the partnership with Aga Khan University reflects a broader effort to bring international-standard institutions to Islamabad.
