Rain alert issued as storms, hail may hit parts of Pakistan
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a fresh weather advisory, warning that rain, gusty winds and hailstorms may affect several parts of Pakistan over the coming hours. Citizens have been urged to remain cautious and follow safety instructions during changing weather conditions.
According to the department, the weather in Islamabad is expected to remain partly cloudy today, with chances of rain later in the day. While most districts of Punjab are likely to remain hot and dry, scattered rain and windstorms are forecast in several cities.
Rain is expected in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sargodha and Sialkot.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is also likely in Peshawar, Mardan, Dir, Chitral, Malakand, Kohistan, Buner, Nowshera, Swat, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Kurram, Kohat, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Bajaur. Hailstorms may also hit upper parts of the province.
Meanwhile, most districts of Sindh are expected to remain very hot and dry. In Karachi, temperatures may range between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius. Southern districts of Balochistan are also likely to experience continued heat.
The weather department has advised people to avoid unnecessary travel, drink plenty of water and remain careful during strong winds or thunderstorms.
