Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Meteorological Department have forecasted favorable weather in Lahore and surrounding areas during Basant celebrations from February 6 to 8, 2026, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 22°C.

The PDMA warned that northern Punjab may experience rainfall and snowfall in hilly regions, leading to colder conditions in high-altitude areas. Citizens are advised to exercise caution during kite flying, avoiding power lines and rooftops, and to refrain from using illegal or hazardous kite strings such as metallic, chemical-coated, or nylon “manjha.”
Motorcyclists are required to wear helmets and neck protection to prevent accidents, ensuring safety during the festival. Authorities emphasized adherence to safety protocols to prevent any mishaps during the colorful celebrations.
