Plains districts including Lahore, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Multan, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur are also expected to receive rain. Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan may see rain and snow on January 23.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a severe snowfall alert for northern areas from January 16 to 22, warning of potential road closures and travel disruptions. Similarly, the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority has activated emergency centers and advised residents and tourists to take precautions amid forecasts of heavy snow and extreme cold.
