(Web Desk): The PMD has forecast cold and dry weather across most parts of Pakistan, with dense fog and freezing conditions expected in plains and mountainous regions.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and dry weather across most parts of Pakistan, while freezing temperatures are expected to persist in mountainous regions over the coming days.

According to the forecast, moderate to dense fog is likely to prevail during night and early morning hours in the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, potentially disrupting road traffic and reducing visibility.

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, cold and dry weather will continue, with light fog or mist expected at a few locations during early morning hours.

Most districts of Punjab are expected to experience cold conditions, while Murree, Galiyat, and adjoining areas will remain under severe cold weather. Persistent fog is also likely in several plain districts of the province.

In upper Sindh, including Sukkur, Larkana, and Dadu, moderate to dense fog is expected, particularly during nighttime and morning hours.

Similarly, cold and dry weather will dominate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with fog anticipated in Peshawar, Mardan, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.

Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are expected to experience very cold and dry conditions, with light fog or mist developing at a few locations in Kashmir during the morning.

Authorities have advised commuters to exercise extreme caution while traveling, particularly during foggy conditions, and to stay updated with official weather advisories.
