Most parts of Pakistan are expected to remain dry during the next 24 hours, while isolated rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is forecast in northern areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said mainly dry weather will prevail across the country, with daytime temperatures remaining high in the plains. Upper and northern areas may see partly cloudy conditions.

Rain expected in northern areas

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts are likely to remain dry. However, Chitral and Dir may receive light rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms at some places.

Gilgit-Baltistan is also expected to experience partly cloudy weather, with isolated rain and thunderstorms possible in some areas. PMD’s latest outlook similarly identifies Chitral, Dir and several parts of Gilgit-Baltistan among areas where isolated rain-wind/thunderstorm activity may occur.

Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to remain mainly dry. Punjab will also largely remain dry, although temperatures in the plains are likely to stay warm during the daytime.

Hot and dry weather in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan

Most parts of Sindh are expected to remain hot and dry, while coastal areas may experience partly cloudy conditions. Balochistan is also likely to remain hot and dry.

Kashmir may have partly cloudy weather, while some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan could receive light rain.

The latest PMD outlook indicates that no major weather activity is expected nationwide, although a weak westerly system may affect northern areas around October 1 and 2.
