(Web Desk): Lahore forms a special anti-smog committee to inspect industries and enforce air pollution control measures.

The district administration has launched a strong drive to control Lahore smog by forming a special committee to act against industries adding to air pollution.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) Mudassir Nawaz will lead the committee. Members include the Director of Environment (EPA), the Director of the Labor Department, and all Assistant Commissioners. The committee will inspect industrial units across Lahore to identify sources of pollution.

A district administration spokesperson said a comprehensive plan has been designed for detailed inspections. Factories using boilers and furnaces will be checked on a priority basis, as these are major contributors to smog.

Assistant Commissioners will personally supervise inspections in their areas. They have been directed to ensure that industries follow environment-friendly practices and comply with laws.

The administration warned that strict action will be taken against any factory violating environmental rules. Units causing air pollution or environmental harm will be immediately sealed after identification.
