Lahore is experiencing partly cloudy and pleasant weather on Independence Day, with light rain reported in some areas as the weather department forecasts more showers.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Lahore has a significant chance of rain during the day. The city is currently around 34°C, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 35°C and the minimum to remain near 27°C.

The city is also experiencing light winds, while humidity remains high. The latest forecast indicates that thunderstorms and showers may continue in parts of Lahore.

The weather outlook has also raised concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where thunderstorms and rain are expected in several districts until August 15.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, rain is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra and Abbottabad.

Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Khyber, Mohmand and Kurram may also receive rain.

Authorities have warned that heavy rainfall could increase the risk of landslides in vulnerable mountainous areas. Low-lying parts of Mardan and Swabi could also face urban flooding.

The PDMA has directed relevant authorities to closely monitor rivers, streams and rainwater channels and remain prepared for any emergency.

Residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to stay alert, particularly during thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. The latest weather pattern is expected to keep conditions unsettled across parts of the country during the Independence Day weekend.
