Karachi receives first winter rain as cold intensifies across Sindh
(Web Desk): Karachi experienced its first winter rain late at night, bringing a noticeable drop in temperature, while light rain was also reported in several other cities across Sindh.

The port city witnessed its first winter rainfall late Tuesday night, leading to a sharp increase in cold weather intensity across Karachi and surrounding areas, according to local reports.

Several parts of the city received rain, including I.I. Chundrigar Road, PIDC, Sultanabad, Ziauddin Ahmed Road, and Civil Lines. Showers were also recorded along Shahrah-e-Faisal, Tariq Road, Saddar, Soldier Bazaar, Jamshed Road, and nearby localities. Areas such as SITE Area, Metroville, and Orangi Town experienced intermittent light to moderate rainfall.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast the possibility of light rain during the day, stating that intermittent drizzle and light showers may continue, which could cause further decline in temperatures.

Rainfall was not limited to Karachi alone. Several cities in upper and central Sindh, including Larkana, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Nodharo, and Khanpur, also received rain. Showers were reported in Lakhi Ghulam Shah and Garhi Yasin, resulting in a marked increase in cold conditions. Hyderabad experienced intermittent rainfall as well.

Weather officials say the ongoing system may continue to influence the region, bringing cooler temperatures and cloudy conditions over the next several hours. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures, especially during early morning and night hours, as colder conditions are expected to persist.
