Monsoon showers to intensify across Pakistan this week

PAKISTAN (Web Desk): Pakistan remains under the monsoon spell on August 12, 2025, with temperatures from 25 °C in the north to 40 °C in the south, along with humidity and patchy clouds.

On August 12, 2025, the country of Pakistan continues to experience a sweltering monsoon season.

While oppressive heat and humidity are prevalent, the National Weather Forecasting Center says that isolated rainstorms and thunderstorms are predicted throughout the Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and nearby hilly zones indicative of monsoon fluctuations.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), The national weather for today varies from a low of 25 °C in the northern highlands in the morning to a high of 39–40 °C in the afternoon in the southern plains.

The hottest temperatures are found in southern Sindh and parts of Punjab, while Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and the surrounding regions continue to be humid with sporadic cloud cover.

While Karachi experiences highs of 34 to 35 °C with high humidity, Skardu and Gilgit are experiencing cooler temperatures of about 25 to 27 °C.

Although there may be a brief build-up of clouds along the coast, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir are more likely to experience rainfall later in the day. Most plains experience light to moderate winds that provide little respite from the heat.

From August 13–17, hot, humid weather will continue, with isolated showers mid-week and heavier monsoon rains expected later in Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, KP, Sindh, and Balochistan.

Today is hot and humid with limited rain, but monsoon showers will intensify mid-week across much of Pakistan.
