NADRA’s aim is to simplify the procedure and reduce confusion at NADRA centres nationwide.
Required Documents You Must Have
To ensure a smooth experience, prepare the following:
1. Computerized birth certificate from your Union Council or Cantonment Board showing the updated name.
2. If unavailable, fill out NADRA s affidavit form: Form C1 for B-Form holders or C2 for CNIC holders.
3. A certificate from Dar-ul-Ifta is required if your name change involves a religious update.
How It Works
1. Token collection
Arrive at any NADRA registration centre and obtain your queue token.
2. Biometric verification
You’ll scan fingerprints and have a photo taken at the biometric counter.
3. Data entry & print review
After an official inputs your updated information, before submission, you can check the printed form.
4. Final approval
Before approving the changes, the in-charge reviews your file and asks verification questions.

Fees & Processing Time
Processing times and charges depend on the service level:
· Executive (7 days): Rs 2,500
· Executive (15 days): Rs 1,500
· Normal (30 days): Rs 750
Once approved, you’ll get an SMS confirmation. Return to the same NADRA centre after the specified period to collect your new CNIC — make sure to verify all the details before leaving.
Be sure to prepare and collect documents and forms in advance. Bring a blood relative with you for biometric witnessing if needed. Choose your fee category based on urgency and keep your phone handy for SMS updates to ensure timely collection.
NADRA ensures a smooth process for anyone who wants to change their name on their CNIC. It has never been this easy, efficient, and quick to change your name on your CNIC.
