Heavy rains in Islamabad and Rawalpindi disrupted flight operations for the second consecutive day.

Heavy rains slashed twin cities with roads are flooded and flights are postponed. These disruptions are causing severe transportation difficulties for travelers.

Flight operations at Islamabad International Airport were severely impacted by rough weather conditions. Six flights were cancelled on Wednesday, according to aviation authority.

Flight PF-121 between Karachi and Islamabad was cancelled by AirSial. The PIA flights from Islamabad to Skardu, PK-451 and PK-452, were also cancelled.

The Islamabad–Skardu flight was also cancelled during the day. Amid these disruptions visitors were left disturbed at the airport.

In the Katarian region, Nala Lai, a significant Rawalpindi drain was overflowed. The water level rose to 15.7 feet, which is quite high and poses major risk to nearby areas.

 

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Bokra area of Islamabad had 125 mm of rain, Sector I-12 received 106 mm, Golra received 97 mm, the airport received 61 mm, Syedpur received 69 mm, and Zero Point received 22 mm. The Chaklala region of Rawalpindi received the most rainfall, with 133 mm, followed by Kachhari with 102 mm, Gowalmandi with 90 mm, Pirodhai with 80 mm, and Shamsabad with 67 mm.
