The National Seismic Monitoring Centre reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was near the Tajikistan-China border, at a depth of 159 kilometers. Officials have advised citizens to remain alert and cautious for possible aftershocks in the coming hours.

This earthquake underscores the persistent seismic activity in northern Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, highlighting the importance of preparedness and early warning systems in the region. Experts advise people living in high-risk areas to remain vigilant, follow safety protocols, and have emergency plans in place.

Seismologists also note that northern Pakistan’s mountainous regions are particularly prone to earthquakes due to tectonic activity, and residents should take precautionary measures to minimize risks.

While Pakistan has faced several tremors in recent years, this latest earthquake serves as a reminder of the region’s vulnerability and the need for continued awareness and disaster readiness.
