The City Traffic Police in Murree have launched a free vehicle recovery service for residents and tourists, aimed at improving traffic management and providing timely assistance during emergencies. The initiative was introduced under the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, highlighting the government’s commitment to public safety and convenience in hill stations.
Modern recovery vehicles deployed
According to a spokesperson for the City Traffic Police, the service uses modern recovery vehicles strategically deployed across Murree to respond quickly to breakdowns or accidents.

Chief Traffic Officer Murree, Imran Razaq, said the initiative ensures that disabled or accident-damaged vehicles are transported promptly to nearby workshops, preventing traffic congestion and enhancing road safety.
First-hand incident demonstrates effectiveness
Razaq cited a recent incident where a tourist from Lahore faced difficulty after his car broke down on Bariyan Road while returning from Ayubia. The tourist contacted the traffic control room, and a traffic sergeant immediately reached the location, arranged a recovery vehicle, and safely transported the car to a nearby workshop. “This service ensures motorists receive timely assistance, maintaining smooth traffic flow in busy areas,” he added.
