(Web Desk): SSGC announces a 24-hour gas shutdown for Karachi’s industrial users on January 11–12 to ensure better pressure for domestic and commercial consumers.

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a 24-hour suspension of gas supply for industrial consumers in Karachi, aiming to improve gas pressure for domestic and commercial users amid rising winter demand.

In an official statement, an SSGC spokesperson said the company is making continuous efforts to ensure stable and improved gas pressure for consumers, especially during the peak winter season when gas consumption sharply increases. Due to this seasonal surge, the management has once again decided to temporarily halt gas supply to industrial units so that household and commercial users can receive better pressure.

According to SSGC, industrial gas supply will remain suspended from Sunday, January 11, at 8:00 am until Monday, January 12, at 8:00 am. The decision is part of the company’s load management strategy to balance demand and supply during colder weather.

The gas utility further advised domestic consumers that if they experience low gas pressure or supply issues during this period, they can register complaints through the 24-hour helpline 1199, which remains fully operational to provide immediate assistance.

SSGC also clarified that routine gas load management for domestic and commercial users will continue as usual, with gas supply remaining suspended daily from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. This policy, the company said, is essential to manage limited gas resources efficiently and ensure fair distribution.
