Sindh links all education boards with NADRA to curb fake degrees
Sindh Connects Education Boards With NADRA
Sindh has become the first province in Pakistan to connect all its educational boards with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The Sindh government signed an agreement with NADRA to bring the boards into the authority’s secure digital system. The move is aimed at improving the safety and verification of academic records.
The signing ceremony was attended by Sindh Minister for Universities Ismail Rahoo, NADRA’s director general and chairmen of the provincial education boards.
The agreement marks a step towards making educational records easier to verify and manage through digital services.
New System to Help Stop Fake Degrees
Ismail Rahoo said the integration would help tackle fake degrees and proxy examinations.
Proxy examinations occur when someone takes an exam on behalf of another student. Such practices can raise concerns about the fairness and credibility of examination results.
By connecting education boards with NADRA’s system, authorities aim to make it easier to verify students’ identities and academic records.
The digital link is also expected to improve transparency in examinations and reduce opportunities for misuse of educational documents.

Students to Access Verified Degrees Through Pak ID
One of the key features of the agreement is that students will be able to access their verified educational degrees through the Pak ID application.
This could make academic documents easier to obtain and verify when students apply for jobs, further education or other opportunities that require proof of qualifications.
Digital verification may also help institutions check academic credentials without relying entirely on manual record checks.
However, the exact process for accessing degrees through the application and the timeline for making the facility available were not specified in the report.
NADRA to Provide Free Integration
NADRA’s director general said the authority would provide the integration facility to all educational boards free of charge.
This means the boards will not have to pay NADRA for the integration service under the agreement.
Connecting the boards to a common digital system could help improve coordination and make academic records more accessible for verification.
The initiative also supports the wider shift towards digital public services in Pakistan.
