SC orders Imran Khan’s transfer as govt calls high-level meeting
Govt reviews security after Supreme Court order
A high-level meeting has been convened in Islamabad to discuss security arrangements following the Supreme Court’s order to shift former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan to a private hospital.
Senior officials from relevant institutions are attending the meeting, where arrangements for implementing the court’s decision are being reviewed.
Officials said the measures will be put into effect after the written directives from the Supreme Court are received. The meeting is focused on ensuring that the transfer and subsequent security arrangements are carried out according to the court’s instructions.
Imran Khan ordered to be shifted to private hospital
The Supreme Court ordered that Imran Khan be shifted to Al-Shifa Hospital in Islamabad until the next hearing. The order came during a hearing concerning meetings between Imran Khan, his sisters and his personal doctors.
The court also directed authorities to facilitate meetings between the former prime minister and his sister, Uzma Khan. It also ordered authorities to facilitate meetings between Imran Khan and his personal physician, Dr Faisal Sultan.
Security arrangements under review
Government officials are reviewing the security measures required for Imran Khan’s transfer to the hospital. The arrangements are expected to cover the former prime minister’s movement, security around the hospital and other related measures.

Senior officials from relevant departments are participating in the meeting to coordinate the implementation of the court order. Authorities are waiting for the written directives before formally putting the arrangements into effect.
Hospital may be declared a sub-jail
According to sources, the district administration is expected to issue a notification declaring the hospital a sub-jail. The move would allow authorities to maintain the required security arrangements while Imran Khan receives treatment at the facility.
Declaring a hospital a sub-jail would also provide a legal and administrative framework for keeping the former prime minister in custody during his stay. The district administration is expected to take further steps after receiving the court’s written instructions.
Court focuses on access to family and doctors
The Supreme Court’s order also addresses Imran Khan’s access to family members and medical professionals.
The court directed authorities to facilitate meetings between the former prime minister and his sister, Uzma Khan. It also ordered that his personal physician, Dr Faisal Sultan, be allowed to meet him.
The directions come amid a case concerning access to Imran Khan by his sisters and personal doctors. The latest order could therefore affect both his medical arrangements and his contact with family and healthcare providers.
Officials await written court directives
Officials said the security arrangements will be implemented once the Supreme Court’s written directives are received. The written order will provide authorities with the details needed to carry out the transfer and other instructions.
Government departments are expected to coordinate their responsibilities once the formal directions are available. The process will also involve the district administration, which is expected to issue the notification concerning the hospital.
