Saudi Arabia issues strict warning for Pakistani citizens
Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi issued the appeal in a video statement.
Avoid sharing sensitive security content
Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi advised Pakistanis not to share photos or videos of Houthi attacks, interception operations, debris, security installations or other sensitive locations on social media. He said such content could create legal difficulties for those sharing it.
He also warned Pakistani residents against posting comments that violate Saudi laws. Citizens were urged not to spread rumours or unverified information on social media.
Saudi laws and security instructions
Ashrafi said sharing information about security installations and sensitive incidents during the current situation could go against Saudi laws and instructions issued by the Ministry of Interior. He stressed that residents should exercise caution when posting or forwarding information online.
The Pakistan Ulema Council chairman urged Pakistani citizens to act responsibly and avoid activities that could cause problems for themselves. He also said such actions could create difficulties in relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Respect for Saudi Arabia stressed
Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said Saudi Arabia is a brotherly country for Pakistan and is home to the holy sites. He said respecting the country and protecting its security is a responsibility shared by everyone.
The appeal highlights the importance of checking information before sharing it, particularly during a sensitive security situation. For Pakistani residents, following local laws and official instructions can help them avoid unnecessary legal or personal difficulties.
The warning mainly focuses on responsible social media use by Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia. Sharing images or unverified information about sensitive security matters can create serious problems.
The safest approach is to avoid posting sensitive material and rely on official sources for information. This can also help prevent rumours from spreading during a tense situation.
