The Punjab Home Department has extended the deadline for arms dealers to complete registration on the online digital inventory system by 10 days. The new deadline has been set for September 6, 2026.

All registered arms dealers must upload details of their existing firearm and ammunition stocks, along with purchase and sale records, through the online portal.

230 dealers already registered

According to a Home Department spokesperson, the digital system will maintain records of firearms and ammunition held by individual dealers, as well as details of their transactions.

Punjab currently has 413 registered arms dealers, of whom 230 have already entered their information into the digital inventory system. Deputy commissioners are assisting dealers in their respective districts with the registration process.

The extension was announced during a training workshop in Lahore aimed at helping dealers use the Punjab Arms Licence Portal.

Dealers warned of legal action

More than 350 arms dealers participated in the workshop, including representatives who joined online from deputy commissioner offices.

Officials provided guidance on uploading inventories and recording purchase and sale transactions through the digital system. NADRA officials also participated in the training alongside senior Home Department officials.

Focus on curbing illegal arms trade

The Home Department said digital registration is intended to improve monitoring of arms stocks, reduce crime and help curb the illegal trade of weapons across Punjab.

Authorities warned that dealers who fail to upload their required records by the revised deadline could face legal action.

Possible penalties include suspension of licences, sealing of business premises and fines under applicable laws.

The department has urged all remaining dealers to complete the registration process before the September 6 deadline to avoid enforcement action.
