Public frustration has intensified across Pakistan after the latest petrol and diesel price hike, with many citizens demanding that the government restore the 28-day fuel pricing system instead of making frequent changes.

Consumers say repeated increases in fuel prices are making daily life more expensive, pushing up transport fares and the cost of essential goods. Many believe their incomes are not keeping pace with rising living expenses and have urged the government to provide relief.

The federal government increased the price of petrol by Rs3.66 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs4.80 per litre in its latest price revision.

Following the increase, the new price of petrol has reached Rs335.18 per litre, up from Rs331.52, while diesel now costs Rs383.86 per litre, compared with the previous Rs379.06 per litre.

The government also raised the price of kerosene oil by Rs2.99 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs301.14 per litre.

According to the latest figures, petrol has become Rs24.82 per litre more expensive over the past eight days, while diesel prices have surged by Rs60.11 per litre during the same period.

Citizens argue that the repeated increases are accelerating inflation and placing additional financial pressure on households. Many are calling on the government to abandon frequent fuel price revisions and instead announce petroleum prices once every 28 days to provide greater stability for consumers and businesses.
