PM Shehbaz, Bilawal to Attend Ayatollah Khamenei’s Funeral in Iran
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are expected to travel to Iran this week to attend the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to reports.
The prime minister is scheduled to begin a two-country visit on July 3, with Iran serving as the first destination. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, while Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also expected to join the visit.
During his stay in Iran, Bilawal is likely to hold separate meetings with Masoud Pezeshkian and other senior Iranian officials to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
Following the conclusion of engagements in Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to travel to Türkiye on July 4 for a bilateral meeting with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to reports, the funeral is expected to take place in Tehran on July 6, with large crowds anticipated along major routes, including Enghelab Road, Lashkari Road, and Azadi Road. Funeral prayers are also expected to be held in Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad.
Authorities are finalizing security and logistical arrangements as thousands of mourners from across Iran and other countries are expected to participate in the funeral ceremonies. After returning from Iran, Bilawal is also expected to visit Gilgit-Baltistan to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the region's chief minister.
