PIA to increase London Heathrow flights from four Pakistani cities
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is preparing to expand its operations to the United Kingdom after Turkish Airlines returned 14 weekly landing and take-off slots at London Heathrow Airport for the Winter 2026 schedule, which begins on October 25.
The additional slots will enable PIA to increase direct flights between London Heathrow and four major Pakistani cities: Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Sialkot.
The development follows PIA’s return to Heathrow earlier this year, when the national carrier resumed operations using reclaimed Summer 2026 slots after several years away from one of the world’s busiest airports.
According to documents related to the slot allocation, Turkish Airlines has exchanged multiple arrival and departure slots with PIA, allowing the Pakistani airline to operate additional flights during the Winter 2026 season.

The expansion is expected to improve travel options for thousands of passengers, particularly the large Pakistani community living in the United Kingdom. It is also expected to enhance connectivity for business travellers and families travelling between the two countries.
PIA has been gradually rebuilding its international network following the restoration of flights to key European destinations. The additional Heathrow slots are expected to strengthen the airline’s presence in one of its most important overseas markets. Officials believe the latest development could also pave the way for further expansion of PIA’s UK flight schedule in the future.
