Petrol jumps Rs20.81, diesel Rs55.36 per litre in just one week
According to the Petroleum Division, petrol has increased by Rs20.81 per litre, while high-speed diesel has become Rs55.36 per litre more expensive since the new pricing system was introduced.
The first revision under the daily pricing mechanism came on July 18, when petrol prices increased by Rs5.44 per litre and diesel by Rs31.05 per litre.
On July 21, petrol prices were reduced by 35 paisas per litre, while diesel prices increased by Rs5.71 per litre.
Fuel prices rose again on July 22, with petrol increasing by Rs4.93 per litre and diesel by Rs7.15 per litre.
A day later, on July 23, petrol prices increased by Rs6.39 per litre, while diesel became Rs7.83 per litre more expensive.
The latest increase came on July 24, when petrol prices were raised by Rs4.40 per litre and diesel by Rs3.62 per litre.

The federal cabinet approved the daily petroleum pricing mechanism on July 17, authorising the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to revise fuel prices daily in line with changes in international oil markets.
Following the latest revision, petrol is now priced at Rs335.18 per litre, while high-speed diesel is being sold at Rs383.46 per litre.
The continuous rise in fuel prices has raised concerns among transporters, businesses and consumers, as higher fuel costs are expected to increase transportation expenses and put further pressure on the prices of essential goods.
