The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification announcing another increase in petroleum prices in Pakistan. The revised rates came into effect from September 16, placing an additional burden on consumers already facing rising living costs.

According to the notification, the price of petrol has increased by Rs4.10 per litre. The new petrol price has been fixed at Rs384.34 per litre, up from Rs380.24.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been raised by Rs6.41 per litre. Following the latest adjustment, diesel will now be sold at Rs415.83 per litre.

Higher costs for consumers

The latest increase is expected to affect household budgets, transport operators and businesses that depend on petroleum products. Higher fuel prices can also increase transportation expenses and add pressure to the prices of goods and services.

The government’s latest decision comes amid continued volatility in international oil markets. Changes in global petroleum prices and related import costs have contributed to recent fuel price adjustments in Pakistan.

The new petrol and diesel prices are applicable from September 16, according to the official notification. Consumers will pay the revised rates at fuel stations under the latest pricing arrangement.
