Lahore braces for rain as Karachi faces heat
Weather conditions have changed across Pakistan, bringing contrasting forecasts for major cities. Lahore has a 95% chance of rain today, with sunshine and clouds continuing to alternate throughout the day.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) recorded Lahore’s current temperature at 30°C. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 33°C, while the minimum may fall to 24°C.
Humidity in Lahore stands at 71%, with winds blowing at 5 kilometres per hour. The city is likely to remain partly cloudy throughout the day, according to the weather department.
Islamabad may receive heavy showers
Islamabad is also expected to experience partly cloudy weather, with thunderstorms and heavy rain possible in some areas. The capital recorded a two-degree drop in temperature compared with the previous day.
The morning temperature in Islamabad was recorded at 19°C, while the daytime temperature is expected to reach 27°C. Winds may blow at 7 kilometres per hour, with humidity exceeding 78%.
Rain forecast for northern regions
The PMD has forecast thunderstorms and rain in Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the day. Gilgit-Baltistan may remain partly cloudy, with rain expected in some areas.
Karachi remains hot and humid
Karachi continues to face hot and humid conditions, with sea breezes reportedly remaining suspended. The city’s temperature is expected to range between 32°C and 34°C, while humidity stands at 78%.
The weather department recorded Karachi’s current temperature at 30°C and the minimum at 28°C. Air quality remains satisfactory, with particulate matter levels below 100 micrograms per cubic metre.
