Pakistan Railways has announced the operation of four special trains ahead of Eidul Fitr to facilitate passengers traveling across the country during the festive rush.
A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways said the additional train services are being introduced to accommodate the growing number of people heading to their hometowns to celebrate Eidul Fitr with their families.
According to the schedule, the first Eid special train will depart from Lahore to Karachi on March 16. The train will pass through several cities including Okara, Sahiwal and Khanewal before reaching Karachi.
The second special train will leave Quetta for Rawalpindi on March 17. During its journey, it will make stops at Sukkur, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanewal and Lahore to pick up passengers from different regions.
On the same day, Pakistan Railways will operate a third special train from Karachi to Peshawar, providing additional travel options for passengers heading towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern areas.

Meanwhile, the fourth special train will depart from Karachi to Lahore on March 18 to further ease travel pressure on the busy route between the two major cities.
Railway officials said the decision to run special trains was taken in view of the heavy travel demand during Eidul Fitr. Every year thousands of people travel between major cities to celebrate the festival with their families.
Pakistan Railways regularly introduces special train services during major holidays to manage the passenger load and ensure smoother travel for the public.
