Pakistan gets a three-day holiday break in August for Independence Day

Pakistanis will have a chance to enjoy a three-day break next month as the country prepares to celebrate Independence Day on August 14. The occasion is celebrated every year across Pakistan with national events, ceremonies and patriotic activities.

This year, the holiday will be especially attractive for people planning short trips or family activities because August 14 falls on a Friday. The following Saturday and Sunday are already regular weekly holidays for many people across the country. As a result, the Independence Day holiday will connect with the weekend, creating three consecutive days off.

According to the calendar, August 14 will fall on Friday this year. The next two days, Saturday and Sunday, will complete the three-day break. The extended weekend could give families and friends more time to make travel plans or enjoy local activities.
