Pakistan Airlines increase ticket prices after jet fuel price hike
(Web Desk): Airlines in Pakistan have raised ticket prices after a sharp jet fuel price hike, increasing domestic fares by up to Rs5,000 and international tickets by as much as Rs28,000.

Airlines operating in Pakistan have increased ticket prices following a significant rise in jet fuel costs, affecting both domestic and international flights.

According to airline industry sources, ticket fares on several domestic routes have been revised upward, particularly flights departing from Karachi to major cities such as Lahore and Islamabad. The fare increase on domestic routes ranges from Rs2,800 to Rs5,000 per ticket, depending on the airline and travel schedule.

International Flight Tickets Also Become More Expensive

The impact of rising fuel costs has also been felt on international routes. Airline sources report that ticket prices for overseas destinations have increased by Rs10,000 to Rs28,000 per ticket.

Flights from Pakistan to countries in the Middle East and Central Asia have seen fare increases of up to Rs15,000, making travel more expensive for passengers traveling to regional destinations.

Long-Haul Routes See the Highest Price Hikes

The steepest increases have been recorded on long-haul routes. Flights from Pakistan to cities such as Toronto and Manchester have experienced fare hikes of up to Rs28,000 per ticket.

According to aviation sources, one-way economy class fares on these routes have now crossed Rs250,000, reflecting the growing cost pressures faced by airlines.

Jet Fuel Price Surge Behind Fare Increase

The fare hike comes after a sharp increase in jet fuel prices across Pakistan. Industry sources revealed that the price of aviation fuel has risen by Rs154 per litre, bringing the new rate to approximately Rs342 per litre.

Jet fuel is one of the largest operational expenses for airlines, and significant price increases typically lead to higher ticket fares as carriers attempt to offset rising costs.

Aviation analysts say that if fuel prices continue to rise, passengers may see further increases in ticket fares in the coming months.
