New facility announced for passport applicants across Pakistan
The passport delivery counters across Pakistan will remain open every Saturday from 8am to 4pm for the next two months, according to the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.
The new arrangement will allow citizens to collect their ready passports on Saturdays instead of waiting for the next regular working day. The facility is particularly useful for applicants who cannot visit passport offices during normal weekday hours.
Passport collection facility for citizens
Authorities have encouraged citizens to take advantage of the additional Saturday passport service and collect their documents as soon as they are ready.
The decision is aimed at improving public convenience and helping reduce delays in passport collection. Only the delivery counters will operate under the special Saturday arrangement, while the facility will remain available for two months.
Uncollected passports face disposal
The passport authorities have also issued an important reminder to applicants. Passports that remain uncollected for more than six months will be disposed of according to government policy.
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has advised applicants to check their passport status and collect completed documents within the prescribed period.
The move provides greater flexibility for citizens across Pakistan and gives those with weekday commitments an additional opportunity to receive their passports.
